A pedagogical video with some sci-fi elements. I did the edit in Premiere and visual effects in After Effects. The portal effect was based on Andrew Cramer’s tutorial at his website. Video Copilot has great AE tutorials and very useful plugins for AE. Check the site out if you’re interested in creating some visual effects.
The title animation for Dimensions of Teaching was done in the open source 3D program Blender. Blender is a very complex and powerful free 3D software for creating many kinds of 3D graphics.
Production tip: Don’t use green items in green screen shots. Saves trouble.
