Not just another day at the library.

Librarian Tom’s workday takes a surprising turn as hidden memories surface. A library customer enters and Tom’s life will never be the same again.

I wrote, directed, filmed and edited this short action movie. Everything was filmed on location in Oulu, Finland. It took a long time to finish the project. Production took from 2018 to 2020. It was really interesting to get to film action movie stuff like a chase and fight scenes. My brother Juho Karjalainen (https://kuumeproductions.com/) does the main role and he was also the lead fight choreographer on the project. A huge thank you to everyone who helped with the production. Our teamwork made the project possible.

The indoor scenes were filmed with Panasonic GH4 and DJI Ronin-M stabilizer. In the outdoor fight I mainly used Panasonic G80 and on some shots GH4 with a wide lens. The final fight took about two days to film. It was very hectic but we got all the shots that we needed to get the scene to work. I wanted the audience to see the action and what is happening in the fight. Me and my brother Juho are both big Jackie Chan fans and that had an impact on how the fight was planned, filmed and edited. Juho did a great job in choreographing a fight with a story.

For the music of the short film I used the Filmstro library.
